Receiving an invitation to a conference, gala, or any other special event should not cause a feeling of stress to your prospective attendees. Make sure you provide them with important event details beforehand so that their arrival and attendance is as smooth and easy as possible. Below are two details you should provide to your guest before an event.
Parking Information: Ask your venue contact for any parking information and directions for the property. You will want to communicate this information to all attendees with a detailed agenda prior to the event. Also, don’t forget to communicate if there will be any fees associated with parking, or if only certain methods of payment will be accepted as some locations tend to be cash only. If the parking is not easy assessable or limited, make sure to include that in the information you communicate to your attendees as well so that they don’t run into any parking issues on the day of your event. This will help everyone arrive on time, avoid frustrations and prevent delays to your event schedule.
Dress Code: Don’t let someone feel awkward or left out of the crowd. If you have an expectation of dress code you would like from your attendees, be sure to communicate it to them. So many times I’ve heard people wonder and ask “what do I wear” for a multitude of events. This can be difficult for some attendees to figure out if they were not provided with any information, they need help figuring out what is appropriate or not. Help take that worry off of your attendees, and direct them in the right dress code direction. This way, no one will feel out of place by being under or overdressed.
